Congratulations to Our Alumni for Notable Achievement

On November 18, 2023, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhan was honored with the "Teacher of the Year 2023" award by University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (UMP) on the occasion of Teacher’s Day in Vietnam.

Additionally, she was the team leader of the translation team and the first author of the translated version of the "Oxford Handbook of Midwifery (3rd Edition)”, which published in November 2023.

Congratulations Nhan, your hard work and dedication are inspiring. We are proud of you.

Cultural Visit Trip to Bang Nam Phueng

On October 28, 2023, Doctor of Philosophy Program in Nursing Science arranged a cultural visit trip for students cohort 2022 and 2023 to Bang Krajao and Bang Nam Phueng, famous cultural sites in Phra Pradaeng District of Samut Prakan Province, Thailand.

The objective of this trip was to strengthen the bonding relationship among students, academic staff, and supporting staff of the Program. Fun biking was provided to observe local community way of life and Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park and Botanical Garden (or the "Green lung of Bangkok"). They were also participated in dyeing workshop and paper crafting.

In August 2023, Dr. Abha Sharma was selected for a Postdoctoral Fellowship, which is a collaborative position between the Institute for Social and Environmental Research, Nepal (ISER-N) and the University of Michigan. She also expressed her gratitude by giving a speech, “I got selected for a Postdoctoral Fellowship… It is possible because of my PhD Program at Faculty of Nursing, MU. I am thankful for all the opportunity that the college provided. Thank you Ajarn”.

Congratulations to Mr. Dongyang Wang, Ph.D candidate (2020 academic year), on your successful dissertation defense! July 13, 2023.

On July 10–11, 2023, Thailand Nursing Honor Society and Phi Omega-at-Large Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, conducted the academic conference under the title "Shaping the Future of Nursing Research & Education for the Sustainable Development Goals" via online conference.

We admire that Assistance Professor Dr. Thitipong Tankumpuan, Director of The MU-JHU NCD Research Collaborative Center, Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University, presented his work in this conference under the title "Showcase to Highlight Nursing Education for SDGs". Moreover, two students from the Ph.D. program, Mrs. Abha Sharma and Miss Sarwitree Pornsinsiriruck, also joined the panel session on “Sharing of Ph.D. Students on Nursing Research & Innovation for SDGs”.

Ph.D. students 2022 cohort year seminar.

On June 9, 2023. The program arranged a "Ph.D. students' 2022 cohort year seminar". The seminar invited students and program instructors to discuss the results and give suggestions for all course work during the 2022 academic year. Students’ suggestions can be beneficial to the program by improving or maintaining the quality of courses.

After the usefulness seminar, the program brought students to visit the Thai Nursing Museum at Pra Sri Patcharin Building, Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University.

Congratulations! Mrs. Abha Sharma, Ph.D student (2019 Cohort year) with satisfactory conclusion to the Thesis defense on March 31, 2023.

NSID551 Nursing leadership in Health Care System field learning at the Parliament complex

1st year students in our Ph.D. program visited the Parliament complex in Thailand and took a special lecture from Ms. Kaewkate Thavornphan, the director of the Bureau of Foreign Affairs, secretariat of the Senate. This is a component of NSID 551, Nursing Leadership in the Health Care System, which aims to teach students about advanced leadership in the nursing career path from a special lecturer with extensive national leadership experience.
