The focus of the Center includes women's health research, education, academic service and clinical/ community service.
Research activities
Our Center of Excellence in Women's Health consists of 3 key research areas of focus:
- Quality of Perinatal Care
- Quality of care in high risk pregnancy and mother
- Childbirth education and health promotion
- Violence in pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Perinatal palliative care
- Quality of Reproductive Health
- Quality of Care for Vulnerable Group of Women Since the gaps in knowledge and clinical care in high risk and vulnerable group of women are urgent, one of our significant research areas is to study the determinants of health and health care needs among vulnerable populations of women and to develop health care system and policies that serve their health care needs. Currently, we have staff members who conduct both qualitative and quantitative studies in vulnerable group of women such as mothers with HIV infection, incarcerated mothers.
Academic Service
To improve quality of care for women, our staff members have been actively involved in both training programs and being consultants for evidence-based practice and quality improvement for health service institutes in our network.
